The Castle of Guimarães is the medieval castle built in the 10th century in order to defend its monastery from attacks by Moors and Norman. Set on top of the hill, it is a prominate site.
When visiting the city we stumbled upon a wedding, and the band from the University, both treating us to an experience. Although we missed the riveraly game to be held the next day between here and Lisbon, which we heard could cause riots to breakout in the streets.
